$60,000 IN GRANT

• A contest organized specifically for Saint-Laurent by PME MTL Center-Ouest, in collaboration with the Saint-Laurent borough and the Société de développement commercial (SDC) Quartier D.

”The Future is here” contest aims to revitalize the portion of boulevard Décarie covered by Quartier D, by encouraging the establishment of new businesses or the renovation of already established businesses, through a grant, in order to expand and diversify the existing commercial offer.

The contest is aimed primarily at entrepreneurs who would like to set up retail businesses for residents, students and workers in the neighborhood. Renovation projects for existing premises (equipment, leasehold improvements and others) are also accepted.
Currently, in the area of ​​Quartier D, about fifteen vacant premises are available for the establishment of new businesses.
An amount of $60,000 will be distributed in the form of grants to successful entrepreneurs who have been selected to settle or renovate on Boulevard Décarie in 2020. The amount of each award will be determined according to the nature, the size and needs of the business project for up to $25,000 per project.
PME MTL Center West undertakes to offer support to all candidates who will submit an application. Specific support will be given to the laureates.

Among the eligibility requirements:
• Present a business plan to set up or renovate a local retail store: shop, restaurant, bar, café and all businesses with a NAICS code starting with 44, 45 and 722. The grant is not available for service businesses (non-limitative examples: nail salon, hairdressing salon, driving school, doctor, professional services …);

Among the eligibility requirements:

• Want to settle in one of the vacant spaces available within the boundaries of the competition territory or to transform or renovate your premises if your company is already established in the territory covered by Quartier D;
• Plan to open your business or business establishment before the summer of 2020;
• be incorporated as a sole proprietorship, joint stock company (company), cooperative or non-profit organization (NPO);
• Demonstrate the financial viability of your project;
• Have the ability to invest $5,000 in capital investment in the project
• Agree to meet a jury;
• Submit all required documents by the Contest Deadline no later than November 30, 2019.
