Mission of the SDC of Quartier D
Created at the end of 2017 by merchants and professionals,
the Société de développement commercial (SDC) of Quartier D is a non-profit organization
whose mission is to promote and develop business on its territory.
Located in the heart of the cultural district of Vieux-Saint-Laurent, the SDC of Quartier D
contributes to the vibrant economic dynamism of the Borough of Saint-Laurent,
while respecting the peaceful and unique character of the area.
The Quartier D has nearly 280 members; proud, well-established entrepreneurs who are committed
to contributing to the commercial, cultural and social development of this magnificent sector of Montréal.
What is the SDC of Quartier D doing?
The SDC of Quartier D reflects, exchanges, connects, innovates and acts
on different aspects of neighborhood life in order to achieve its mission.
In order to make informed decisions, we are initiating studies and surveys, among other things.
Also, we inform, support and offer services to our members on several subjects.
In addition, we maintain a dialogue with the residents of the area and
we contribute to a benevolent strategic planning of the territory.
In order to develop or enhance projects and events for the neighborhood, we create
and join promising and lasting partnerships with local institutions and organizations.
Quiet transformation
We recently consulted the citizens who live in the vicinity of our sector so that they can tell us their level of satisfaction with their experience on the territory of Quartier D. Basically, our neighbors tell us that they would like to see our commercial offer more diversified.
This is good news, because to convince new entrepreneurs to come and settle here, nothing better than to present them with the needs expressed clearly and concretely by their potential future clients!
Despite the current challenges, the SDC of Quartier D is proactively pursuing its actions, thus contributing to the quiet transformation of its territory.
